You crush a drive... only to watch it dive hard left like it's trying to avoid responsibility. Welcome to the world of the hook.

The Hook Happens When:

  • The clubface is too closed at impact.

  • Your grip is too strong.

  • You’re swinging too far from the inside (hello, baseball swing).

Quick Fixes:

  1. Grip Check: Soften that strong grip. You should only see one or two knuckles on your lead hand.

  2. Neutral Face Drill: On the range, hit punch shots with your 7-iron. Focus on squaring the face with a shorter follow-through.

  3. Path Awareness: Imagine your hands traveling straight down the target line after impact—this helps eliminate the exaggerated in-to-out path.

Magic Drill – “Tee Gate”Set two tees on either side of your ball about a foot in front. Hit through the gate. If you’re over-closing the face or over-drawing, you’ll knock a tee. Instant feedback. Cleaner path, better face control.

If you’re tired of duck-hooking drives into the woods, let’s take a deep dive into your swing. At Grant Griffiths Golf, we’ll tailor your lesson to eliminate the snap-hook and build a motion that keeps your ball in play and under control.

Let’s get those balls back in the fairway—book now
