Let’s get one thing straight—golf isn’t just a sport for executives in polos or retirees chasing birdies. It’s for you, too. Whether you're 26 or 62, stepping onto a course for the first time can feel intimidating, but it doesn’t have to. You don’t need fancy gear, a perfect swing, or a country club membership. What you do need is a guide, a little patience, and a place to start.
Welcome to your beginner's blueprint—with PGA Coach Grant Griffiths.
🎯 Start With Your "Why"
Why do you want to play golf?To meet new people? Impress clients? Compete in charity scrambles? Or just not look totally lost when your friends invite you to Topgolf?
Knowing your “why” helps shape your learning journey. My goal is to empower you with skills and confidence to match that purpose—no pressure, just progress.
⛳ What You Actually Need to Begin
Let’s bust some myths:
You don’t need a full set of clubs. A putter, wedge, 7-iron, and driver can go a long way at first.
You don’t need to play 18 holes. In fact, I suggest starting on the practice green or with 3-hole loops.
You don’t need to fix your swing from YouTube. The algorithm isn’t your coach—I am.
📋 What a Beginner Lesson Looks Like
When you book your first session, here’s what we focus on:
✅ Proper grip and setup✅ Learning how to make solid contact✅ Chipping and putting basics (because scoring starts near the hole)✅ Drills that match your learning style✅ Confidence-building wins you’ll feel right away
You’ll leave your first lesson with a smile, a few new tricks, and a plan.
💡 The Truth About Golf: It’s a Game of Feel, Not Perfection
Here’s a secret even experienced golfers forget: golf is supposed to be fun.Sure, there’s technique, rules, etiquette—but the best golfers in the world still chunk chips and miss 3-footers. You’re not expected to be perfect. You’re expected to enjoy learning.
